Fiddle lessons at Moray Music Lessons
We are delighted to announce that we will be offering 1-to-1 lessons on the Fiddle! Since our Sunday guitar tutor, Wilson Noble, has moved on to Edinburgh, we felt we could use the opportunity to add another instrumental tutor to our line-up. We’re really happy to welcome Claudia Smith to Moray Music Lessons!
Let’s have a look at Claudia’s bio;
Claudia is a freelance fiddle tutor working in the North East of Scotland. Following a move to Scotland from South Wales, she became interested in traditional music and, as a teenager, bought a fiddle and began teaching herself to play.
In 2015, she gained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Scottish Music from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Whilst studying, she joined the Royal Scottish National Orchestra at a performance in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, played for ministers at Westminster and performed at various festivals including Celtic Connections.
Since graduating, she has been providing private tuition to pupils ranging in age from early years to adults and has experience of coaching students for exams with Trinity College, London College of Music and for the RCS Traditional Music Graded Exams. She has tutored for the Feis, at the North Ayrshire Fiddle workshops and, most recently, taught as a Visiting Artist for the Conservatoire.
For the last two years, Claudia has coordinated the setup and launch of the RCS NE Arts Hub, the Conservatoire’s North East Junior Conservatoire and Community Arts programmes in Aberdeenshire. She is now looking forward to returning to the Conservatoire in September to begin the distance learning Masters in Learning and Teaching in the Performing Arts.
Fiddle lessons with Claudia will initially be available on Sunday’s throughout the winter term and can be booked from our booking calendar on our home page. A 30-minute lesson will cost £15. If you have any questions, you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
