Susan munro

Hi my name is Susan and I am delighted to join Tom’s “Band” of instrumental instructors in being able to offer piano tuition to anyone with the desire to learn.

I have many years of experience in teaching piano to students of all ages.  It’s never too late; in fact learning to play in later years is proving to be scientifically very beneficial in strengthening the white matter in the brain (a win, win situation).

I began teaching in Elgin before moving to Inverness and then on to Fort William for seventeen years. While I was there I built up a substantial teaching practice as well as teaching Theory at the Lochaber Music School, preparing students for the ABRSM Grade V Theory exam.

I was also involved with Lochaber Showstoppers as Musical Director of many shows including “Oliver”,  “Annie” and “Seussical” to name a few, as well as the Annual Panto, so music filled nearly every minute of my life - so lucky!

When we moved back nearer home to Nairn seven years ago I was still involved with Music Directing and worked with St Giles Musical Theatre as well as Inverness Musical Theatre.

I am so looking forward to being part of the Moray Music Lessons Team and working with lots of new pupils. Playing piano has so many attributes;

  • Improves all aspects of health and well-being.

  • Helps create a sense of achievement.

  • Improves self-confidence.

  • Provides life-long skills.

  • Promotes fun and enjoyment.

I can thoroughly recommend it!
