Learn The Natural Notes - Part 2

ree

Last time, we looked at the Natural Notes on the A string. Now, let's see if you can find those notes on the other strings on your guitar.

1. Remember that notes are ALWAYS alphabetical - A B C D E F G.

2. Once you get to G, the sequence starts again from A.

3. The notes are all 2 frets apart, EXCEPT for B & C, and E & F. They are best bros/two peas in a pod/beans & toast.

4. Have you ever wondered why fret 12 has two dots? It's to make it stand out from the other frets! Why? The note on fret 12 is always the same as the open string! Remember that, and you'll be able to learn the notes on each string from the open string up, or the 12th fret down.

Here are 4 more random note sequences for you to use to test yourself this week:

1: D – F – B – G – A – C – E – F – D – B – G – A

2: C – E – G – A – D – F – B – C – E – A – G – D

3: A – B – F – D – C – G – E – B – F – D – A – C

4: G – C – D – E – B – A – F – G – D – C – E – B

Challenge:

Try setting a metronome to 60bpm and see if you can play each note from each sequence in time with the beat!
